Choice Program Application Information

The Choice Application will reopen for select schools on Monday, March 10, 2025, and will close on Friday, April 4, 2025. The list of schools are below:

W.H. Owen Elementary - Spanish Immersion - Kindergarten Only

Douglas Byrd High School- Academies of Green Technology and Finance

E. E. Smith High School- STEAM Academy, Fire Science Academy

Massey Hill Classical High School

Terry Sanford High School- Global Studies Academy

South View High School- International Baccalaureate (DP & CP)

Pine Forest High School- Academy of Information Technology

Westover High School- Academies of Health Science and Engineering Technology

The Choice Program application can be accessed via the Family Dashboard.

Choice Program Renewals
Students currently assigned to a Choice Program will remain assigned to that school unless a Choice Program Exit Intent Form is completed and submitted to the Student Assignment Office. Completed forms must be received at the Student Assignment Office by the deadline if you no longer wish for your child to remain in their current Choice Program assignment.

Residency and Choice Program Enrollment 
To attend a Cumberland County school, the student must reside in Cumberland County with a parent or court-appointed custodian. Once a parent/legal custodian makes the commitment to enroll a student in a Choice Program, the parent/legal custodian will not be able to transfer the student to another school during the school year.
